In these trying financial times, we all need to pinch a penny or two wherever possible. We are constantly over-spending and over-indebting ourselves. At the end of the day, you have mounting financial troubles and life will throw you a curveball when you can least afford it!

This website is not affiliated with any service or product and was created by someone that was in financial despair. I dragged myself out of it with some minor life adjustments, sound financial advice and some wise choices. I wished I had a website like this one to help me make the right choices, so I decided to make one myself. I am simply trying to give a little back after recovering from financial ruin.

I earn a decent salary working in the IT industry. I always wondered why people who are making less money than me seemed to live better quality lives than I did. It was only after I had over-indebted myself completely that I realised that I am a living beyond my means and needlessly wasted money every day. I needed to change my habits. I needed a plan. So I started doing some research online, and let me tell you, there are a lot of people offering rubbish advice out there! Through some obstacles and a few mistakes, I finally started to figure out what this whole savings and investments thing was all about. How I did NOT need that chocolate from the shop. How I did NOT need to buy that extra dress or the cookies that weren’t on my grocery list! It is always hard work breaking old habits…especially spending habits. I have read that changing spending habits is harder to do than quitting smoking! Luckily, with a little persistence, it becomes easier and I will help you get to grips with the transition!

I have split my website into several different sections, ranging from dealing with debt (such as loans and credit cards), saving, investment advice, choosing short-term insurance and many other topics. What’s more, it caters exclusively for the South African public. Everything I point out on this website can apply to you because it is written by a South African for South Africans!
